One of the foundational concepts that you need to be aware of in Cyber Security is Defense-in-Depth. With Defense-in-Depth, the primary focus is to implement layered defenses, or multiple layers of security, so that the failure of one security control will not result directly in a full network compromise. Additionally, the Zero Trust model helps to increase security because every action within the network is treated as untrusted and must be verified.
